ABOUT SIDELINE

Neal and Bonnie Whorton started Sideline Auto Wrecking Inc. in 1968. Neal was employed by Bigelow Chevrolet as a body and fender man, and daily saw the need for used body parts to repair wrecked vehicles at the Aberdeen Washington dealership. He bought cars to fix and repair, as well as started buying cars for parting out.

The wrecking yard became Neal and Bonnie’s “Sideline” business.  Eventually, Neal left his job to make his business a full-time endeavor.

Neal built the business from scratch on the 12 acres of land east of Aberdeen that was developed over the course of time. Sideline moved their office  to their current location in 1985, making the business more visible and easier to access.

The Whorton’s three children Nathan, Natalie, and Noel helped while growing up. The eldest, Nathan, took the most interest in the business, and has worked there a majority of his life. Bonnie passed away in 2001, and Neal in 2010. Today, Nathan and his wife Patricia continue to own and operate the business, with their son Anthony.

In over 40 years the business has seen many changes. Sideline originally focused on Chevrolet parts, but as business grew in the 1970’s so did the brands of vehicles. They have long specialized in locating difficult and hard-to-find parts with their state, regional and country-wide network of other wrecking yards and parts dismantlers. They stock and supply new aftermarket parts such as radiators, lights, glass, and body parts at a fraction of dealer prices, and can fulfill most orders overnight, usually with free shipping!
